The Brit Awards - Thank God for Liam Gallagher

Every year I ask myself why I bother to sit through the 120 minutes of shambles that is the Brit Awards. This year was no exception apart from the living legend that is Liam Gallagher saving the day with a characteristic outburst.

Oasis win the award for 'Best Brits Album of 30 Years' for their (second best) album "What's The Story Morning Glory" and Liam strides onstage. He thanks all his (ex) bandmates except Noel, throws his mic down, gives the award to someone in the audience and walks off. Text book!

Whatever you think of him, there's no denying Liam is a true Rock Star. Later on in the evening the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' award goes to Robbie Williams - what a complete joke!

Oasis Split

After over 15 years of sibling rivalry it looks like Noel has finally had enough & called it a day on being the lynchpin of Oasis. This comes as very sad news for British music as (Love them or Hate them) Oasis were definitely one of the finest we ever had.
Having been fortunate enough to see them play live 40 times, since they played Bath's Moles Club in March 94, you never quite knew what you were gonna get from an Oasis gig but it was always a proper Rock'n'Roll show for sure!
Don't look back in anger Noel ...

(It's Good) To Be Free

Oasis wound up their UK Summer dates in the capital the other weekend. Despite the continuous downpour both the band & the crowd were on blistering form.

I was looking forward to my first visit to the newly rebuilt Wembley (the last time I was here was for their shambolic gig in 2000) and it didn't disappoint.

It was the 40th time I've seen Oasis, since 1994, and undoubtedly one of the finest. I've never seen Liam so animated on stage - hyping the crowd & brandishing his mic stand like a trophy.

The set was an interesting mix drawing heavily on their classic debut, it was especially cool to hear "Slide Away" live for the first time in years.
