Billy Rohan Supreme Mini Ramp
A couple of months ago Supreme set up a temporary mini ramp in their Soho base. It's now been dismantled but here's some footage of Billy Rohan just before it was taken down...

Supreme Collection Pt.1

Having been fortunate enough to re-visit the city, several times each year, I have appeared to accumulated a sizeable collection of random items from the now legendary skate brand.

Supreme x Vans - Half Cabs

Here's a look at one (of two) styles of the next upcoming collaboration between Supreme & Vans Off The Wall. Taking the classic Half Cab once again, this time with an all-over checkerboard print (which is fine by me!). These remind me of the amazing BMX-Inspired Half Cabs Supreme did a few years ago. Tasty!

MCA - Get Well Soon
Adam Yaunch - "MCA" from The Beastie Boys sadly has discovered a cancerous tumor in his salivary gland. He's due to have surgery this week so get well soon Adam. The Beasties have been firm faves of mine since Licence To Ill dropped in 1986 and are always amazing live so I'm looking forward to 2010 with the release of "Hot Sauce Committee Part 1" and possible UK dates.
Here's a great old pic of Adam with the Dalai Lama (rocking a classic Supreme coach - nice!)

UNION NYC / STUSSY NYC

Back in January the manager of Union told me of a proposed plan to turn the Spring St store into a new Stussy Chapter Store. This news finally became official today as Stussy have set a date of August 24th as the opening of the new store.
This is really sad news as Union was the original street culture store in Soho & has always been a regular stop-off for me over the past 15 years. Union opened at 172 Spring St, NY in 1989 as James Jebbia's first venture upon arriving in the city. Trading in imported lines, their own range and rare sneakers (Joe was running the Dappa Dan custom Uptowns years before anyone else jumped back on it!) Union rapidly became a downtown icon. In 2007 Union moved to a slightly larger store two doors down and cut down on the European labels to increase more upscale Japanese brands.
Stussy obviously needs a major presence in NYC and has been seriously missed since the Wooster St store's lease expired last summer but it's a shame it comes at the cost of Union. Even though he also runs Stussy NY, I guess in this economic climite even Mr Jebbia's mini-empire isn't bulletproof.
