The Heavy at Bristol Thekla

Last night my boys THE HEAVY rolled into Bristol, as part of their UK tour, to blow the roof off the Thekla for a sold-out hometown (as-close-as-they'll-get!) show. Having been on the road, through Europe & USA, since the start of 2010 they were in fine form.
It was great to see so many friends from Bath & Bristol showing their love & support and some friendly old faces I've not seen in many years.

Here's some footage I shot of the gig ...

Shaun White Kills It In Vancouver

Congratulations to Shaun White who, not only took Gold in Vancouver, pulled off his staggering Double McTwist (which some people are now calling a "Tomahawk" for some reason) without killing himself - Good Work Fella!

The Brit Awards - Thank God for Liam Gallagher

Every year I ask myself why I bother to sit through the 120 minutes of shambles that is the Brit Awards. This year was no exception apart from the living legend that is Liam Gallagher saving the day with a characteristic outburst.

Oasis win the award for 'Best Brits Album of 30 Years' for their (second best) album "What's The Story Morning Glory" and Liam strides onstage. He thanks all his (ex) bandmates except Noel, throws his mic down, gives the award to someone in the audience and walks off. Text book!

Whatever you think of him, there's no denying Liam is a true Rock Star. Later on in the evening the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' award goes to Robbie Williams - what a complete joke!

Nike Air Force 1 High

My choice of all three Air Force 1 silhouettes is the original Hi-Top which is often overlooked by Nike in favour of the Low and Mid-Top versions. This month Nike release 3 awesome editions of the AF1 High in Premium leather. Black with Studded Strap, White with Perforated Uppers and, my personal pick, the Deep Burgundy workwear inspired boot.

Here's another great video from 13th Witness, this time starring one of my favourite riders Nigel Sylvester cruising round his New York neighbourhood.

New Nikes

It's been a very long time since I've felt the urge to purchase any Swoosh-related footwear but then all of a sudden two pairs caught my eye.

First up is the Magma AC Quickstrike. This ACG hiking style boot features a gum medium brown premium leather upper sitting nicely upon a black vulcanised 'blazer like' sole, leather lining, mesh tongue and red laces.

Next up is the DJ AM Tribute Dunk Hi featuring premium leather & patent uppers. A really nice touch is the leather tongue & tongue label featuring the DJ AM logo. Definitely a fitting tribute to the DJ/Sneakerhead who died prematurely last year.

Terry + Jello

Back in school one of my favourite bands were San Fransisco punk outfit Dead Kennedys. Baker Skateboards has flipped their classic logo for Terry Kennedys latest deck. I'm not sure if "Compton Ass Terry" is a fan of Jello Biafra and the lads but it's definitely a well produced homage.

Sons of Anarchy

Having aired on Bravo/FX last year, Season 1 of "Sons of Anarchy" is now showing on FiveUSA in the UK. This well written, character driven drama from the writer of The Shield is a gripping watch.
Still no news on when the second season will air on UK television.
